How to mine Pepecoin (PEP)

PEP is mined with Scrypt, the same proof of work as Litecoin and Dogecoin. Most of it comes from merged mining: a machine on a Litecoin pool earns PEP on top of LTC and DOGE, for the same work.

Step by step

  1. Get a Scrypt ASIC

Scrypt mining runs on specialised machines. ViaBTC names the Antminer L9 and the ElphaPex DG1 as examples.

  2. Join a pool that merge-mines PEP

Pools that pay PEP alongside LTC and DOGE include ViaBTC, F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD, AntPool, litecoinpool.org, Mining-Dutch, KuPool. The live list is on miningpoolstats.

  3. Add a PEP payout address

Set a receiving address that starts with P in the pool's settings. Each pool has its own payout settings and minimums. Get a PEP wallet.

  4. Point the miner at the pool

Use the pool's Scrypt (Litecoin) connection address. The PEP reward then arrives with your LTC and DOGE.

What to expect

Competition. Pepecoin's hashrate was about 2.9 PH/s in early October 2026, in the same range as Dogecoin's. Hashrate compared.

Issuance. About 14.4 million PEP a day at the 60-second target, shared by all miners. Live block times.

Profit. It depends on the PEP price, difficulty and your power cost. Calculators: WhatToMine, hashrate.no, ASIC Miner Value.

Common questions

Does merged mining lower my LTC or DOGE rewards?

No. The work is not split between chains. In the words of the pool ViaBTC, PEP is an additional reward from merged mining, requiring no extra hashrate.

What hardware mines PEP?

A Scrypt ASIC miner, the same machine used for Litecoin and Dogecoin. ViaBTC names the Antminer L9 and the ElphaPex DG1 as examples.

How much PEP does the network pay out?

Every block pays 10,000 PEP. At one block a minute that is about 14.4 million PEP a day, shared by everyone mining it. Blocks have averaged about 62.6 seconds over the past year, so the real figure is about 13.8 million.
