Supply and inflation
No cap, and less inflation every year
Pepecoin has no maximum supply. Every block creates 10,000 new PEP, and that number never changes. Because the supply keeps growing while the yearly issue stays flat, the inflation rate falls every year. Dogecoin has worked the same way since 2015.
The same number of new coins, a smaller share each year
New PEP per year does not shrink. It stays at 5.26 billion, so a chart of it alone is 25 identical bars. What changes is the supply those coins are added to, so the same 5.26 billion is a smaller share every year. Projection for the 25 years from October 2026, assuming the 60-second block target holds. Each column covers the 12 months ending in October.

How to read it
The yearly issue is flat. A year has 525,600 minutes. One block a minute at 10,000 PEP each makes 5.256 billion new PEP a year, this year and every year after.
The inflation rate is that issue divided by the coins that already exist. Today that is 5.256 billion on 104.8 billion, or 5.0%. In ten years the supply is about 157 billion, so the same 5.256 billion is 3.3%. In year 25 it is 2.3%. The rate keeps falling and never reaches zero.
Dogecoin is about ten years further along the same curve. It issues the same 5.256 billion coins a year on a supply of about 156 billion, which is 3.4% today. Pepecoin reaches that rate around 2036.
What a fixed reward does. Miners keep earning new coins for every block, so network security does not depend on transaction fees alone. The trade-off is a supply that keeps growing, at a slower pace each year.
How the first 98 billion were issued
The block reward started at 500,000 PEP and halved every 100,000 blocks. From block 600,000 it has been fixed at 10,000 PEP. There was no premine and no allocation, so every coin in this table went to miners.
| Blocks | Reward per block | PEP issued |
|---|---|---|
| 0 – 99,999 | 500,000 | 50.00B |
| 100,000 – 199,999 | 250,000 | 25.00B |
| 200,000 – 299,999 | 125,000 | 12.50B |
| 300,000 – 399,999 | 62,500 | 6.25B |
| 400,000 – 499,999 | 31,250 | 3.13B |
| 500,000 – 599,999 | 15,625 | 1.56B |
| 600,000 onward | 10,000 | 5.26B a year |
The six early rows add up to 98.44 billion PEP. Adding 10,000 PEP for each block since then gives 104.81 billion at block 1,237,438, which matches the supply shown by the Pepeplorer explorer on October 6, 2026.
What the projection assumes
- Blocks arrive every 60 seconds on average, the protocol target. Since launch they have averaged a little slower, which makes real issuance slightly lower than shown.
- The starting supply is 104.8 billion PEP, as shown by Pepeplorer on October 6, 2026.
- The block reward stays at 10,000 PEP. The rules are set by the Pepecoin Core software and could only change if the network adopted a new version.
Common questions
Does Pepecoin have a maximum supply?
No. Pepecoin has no supply cap. Each block adds 10,000 new PEP, about once a minute, with no end date. Dogecoin uses the same rule.
How many new Pepecoin are created each year?
About 5.26 billion PEP: 525,600 blocks a year at 10,000 PEP per block, assuming the 60-second block target holds.
What is Pepecoin's inflation rate?
About 5.0% for the 12 months from October 2026. Because the yearly issue is fixed and the supply keeps growing, the rate falls every year, to about 3.3% after ten years and 2.3% in year 25.
Is that the same as Dogecoin?
Yes. Dogecoin has issued a fixed 10,000 DOGE per one-minute block since 2015. Its supply is larger, about 156 billion, so its inflation rate today is lower, about 3.4%.
Was any Pepecoin premined or set aside?
No. Pepecoin's MiCA white paper states there was no premine, no pre-allocation and no ICO, and that Pepecoin LLC holds no PEP. All coins were issued to miners as block rewards.
