Privacy notice
We keep as little as possible. We never ask for a password, a seed phrase or a wallet to play.
What is stored
- A nickname you choose, and a random guest account ID. If you log in with Discord, your Discord user ID, name and email address are stored by our login service (Supabase), because Discord shares them at login. We do not show the email or use it for anything. We never receive your password.
- Game data: rooms and tables, moves, scores, results and chat messages. Old chat messages are deleted automatically after about a week. Rooms nobody uses any more are deleted with their players and chat after about an hour, and closed tables with their chat after about an hour too. Scores from Pepe Pictures nights are kept for the leaderboard.
- Lobby chat: the messages you write there, with your nickname, are deleted automatically after 24 hours. To show how many people are online, the lobby sends a random ID made in your browser (not your IP address); it is deleted after 10 minutes.
- A salted hash of your IP address, used only for limits: how many rooms and tables one network can open, and how many wrong host-code attempts it can make (those attempts are kept for one day). It cannot be turned back into the address, and the raw address is not saved.
- Leaderboard: your nickname and points from Pepe Pictures nights stay on the leaderboard and in the Hall of Fame.
- Prize addresses: if prizes are offered and you choose to give a PEP address, it is used only to send that prize.
What stays in your browser
Your nickname, theme choice, the guest sign-in token, the position of a game against the bot, your Pepe Miner progress and a random ID for the lobby's online counter are kept in your browser's local storage so the page remembers you. Games against the bot are never sent to a server. Clearing your site data removes all of this.
Who processes data
- GitHub Pages serves the pages.
- Supabase runs the game database and live connection. The project is set up in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Discord handles the login if you choose it.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a guest sign-in comes from a person and not a bot. It sees your IP address and basic browser signals for that check. Cloudflare says it does not use this data for advertising.
- Google Fonts delivers the page font, which means Google sees your IP address when the page loads.
- GoatCounter counts page views without cookies or personal profiles, the same as on the rest of Pepecoin Hub.
- Our own page counter (on every page of Pepecoin Hub, stored in the same Supabase database): which page was opened, with a random number your browser makes each day so one person counts once a day. No IP address, no cookie. Only daily totals per page are kept; the daily numbers are deleted after two days.
Cleaning up and your rights
Inactive guest accounts are cleared out from time to time. To ask what we hold about you, or to have a nickname and its scores removed, open an issue on GitHub or message a host on Discord. These games are run by a regular guy from the r/pepecoin community and are not an official Pepecoin service. Read the game rules too.
