Common questions

Why these four coins?

Litecoin and Dogecoin are mined together with Pepecoin through merged mining on Scrypt, so the same machines secure all three (the Scrypt family). Bitcoin is the biggest coin and usually sets the direction for the whole market.

What is the Altcoin Season Index?

How many of the top 50 coins beat Bitcoin over the last 30 days. 75 or more is altcoin season, 25 or less Bitcoin season. Stablecoins and wrapped tokens don’t count.

What is the Fear & Greed index?

A daily score from 0 to 100 by alternative.me, built from Bitcoin’s volatility, trading volume, social media, dominance and search trends. Low means fear, high means greed. It describes the mood; it does not predict prices.

What is DVOL?

Deribit’s Bitcoin volatility index: how much options traders expect Bitcoin to move over the next 30 days, shown as a yearly percentage. Higher means bigger swings are expected.

Why do stablecoins matter?

Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC are dollars on a blockchain. A growing supply usually means more money is ready to be spent on crypto; a shrinking one means money is leaving.
