How to mine Pepecoin (PEP): off to the Scrypt mines

PEP is mined with Scrypt, the same proof of work as Litecoin and Dogecoin. Most of it comes from merged mining: a machine on a Litecoin pool earns PEP on top of LTC and DOGE, for the same work.

Step by step

  1. Get a Scrypt ASICScrypt mining runs on specialised machines. ViaBTC names the Antminer L9 and the ElphaPex DG1 as examples.
  2. Join a pool that merge-mines PEPPools that pay PEP alongside LTC and DOGE include ViaBTC, F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD, AntPool, Mining-Dutch, KuPool. litecoinpool.org merge-mines PEP too, but pays its value as extra LTC and DOGE (a higher PPS ratio), not in PEP. The live list is on miningpoolstats.
  3. Add a PEP payout addressYour mining wallet is any PEP wallet: set its receiving address, which starts with P, in the pool’s settings. Each pool has its own payout settings and minimums. An Ethereum address (0x…) will not work. Get a PEP wallet.
  4. Point the miner at the poolUse the pool’s Scrypt (Litecoin) connection address. The PEP reward then arrives with your LTC and DOGE.

Mined, not minted

PEP is mined, PEPE is not

PEP is the only Pepe coin with a real mining network: it is merge-mined with Litecoin and Dogecoin, at about 2.11 PH/s (PepeBlocks, Oct 23, 2026). The Pepe tokens on Ethereum (PEPE, PEPECOIN) are not mined at all.

Pepe (PEPE) and PepeCoin (PEPECOIN) are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum. Ethereum replaced mining with proof of stake on September 15, 2022, so there is nothing to mine. An app or website that offers to “mine PEPE” is not mining it on any blockchain.

Before you set a payout address, check the ticker and the network: PEP on the Pepecoin network, an address that starts with P. PEP, PEPE and PEPECOIN side by side.

Mining pools that pay Pepecoin

With a Scrypt ASIC, any of these pools adds PEP to your Litecoin and Dogecoin mining. With a GPU or CPU, unMineable pays you in PEP.

Only have a laptop or a gaming PC? You can still earn PEP.

unMineable lets you mine with a CPU or GPU and pays out in Pepecoin. Download its miner, pick PEP on the Pepecoin network (not PEPE on Ethereum) and enter your PEP address. Expect small amounts: a laptop is no match for a Scrypt ASIC.

One hash, many payouts

Merge-mined together with

Pepecoin uses AuxPoW (merged mining) on Scrypt. Litecoin is the parent chain, and Dogecoin, Pepecoin and the other coins above accept the same work. A pool chooses which of them it pays; ViaBTC’s Litecoin pool pays all of them on top of LTC. The whole Scrypt family.

An estimate: your share of the network hashrate × 1,379 blocks a day (average of the last 30 days) × 10,000 PEP, minus the pool fee. Real payouts move with luck, difficulty and the pool’s payout method. With merged mining this comes on top of your LTC and DOGE.

We love miners

Miners keep Pepecoin running: every block, and every PEP in existence, comes from their hashrate. Pepecoin has no premine and no company printing coins, only miners.

What to expect

Competition

Pepecoin’s hashrate was about 2.9 PH/s in early October 2026, in the same range as Dogecoin’s. Hashrate compared.

Issuance

Up to 14.4 million PEP a day (1,440 blocks at the 60-second target), about 13.8 million at the actual average block time of 62.6 s, shared by all miners. Live block times.

Profit

Common questions

Can I mine Pepecoin with a GPU or CPU?

Not on the Pepecoin network itself, which runs on Scrypt ASICs. You can still earn PEP with a GPU or CPU on unMineable: it mines other coins and pays you in Pepecoin (PEP). Choose PEP, not PEPE, and use an address that starts with P.

Which mining pools pay Pepecoin?

ViaBTC, F2Pool, Binance Pool, EMCD, AntPool, KuPool and Mining-Dutch pay PEP. litecoinpool.org merge-mines PEP but pays its value as extra LTC and DOGE. unMineable pays PEP to GPU and CPU miners. The live list is on miningpoolstats.

Does merged mining lower my LTC or DOGE rewards?

No. The work is not split between chains. In the words of the pool ViaBTC, PEP is an additional reward from merged mining, requiring no extra hashrate.

What hardware mines PEP? Can an Antminer L7 or L9 mine it?

A Scrypt ASIC miner, the same machine used for Litecoin and Dogecoin. ViaBTC names the Antminer L9 and the ElphaPex DG1 as examples. Yes, an Antminer L7 or L9 mines PEP: point it at a pool that merge-mines Pepecoin and it earns PEP on top of LTC and DOGE.

Can I mine Pepe (PEPE)?

No. Pepe (PEPE) is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and Ethereum has used proof of stake instead of mining since September 15, 2022. The coin that is mined is Pepecoin (PEP), on its own blockchain.

Are “Pepe coin mining” apps real?

An app cannot mine Pepe (PEPE): it is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and Ethereum has had no mining since September 15, 2022. Pepecoin (PEP) is mined with Scrypt ASIC machines on mining pools, as in the steps above. An app that pays out “Pepe” for mining on your phone is not mining a blockchain.

Which wallet do I need for mining payouts?

Any wallet that holds Pepecoin (PEP) on the Pepecoin network, such as Pepecoin Core or a Tangem card. Its receiving address starts with P. MetaMask is built for Ethereum-type networks and does not list Pepecoin.

How much PEP does the network pay out?

Every block pays 10,000 PEP. At the target of one block a minute that is up to 14.4 million PEP a day, shared by everyone mining it. Blocks have averaged about 62.6 seconds over the past year, so the real figure is about 13.8 million.
